Job Opportunities for the London 2012 Olympic Games
The London 2012 Olympics are expected to provide more than 100,000 jobs during the games in a variety of fields. There are four main organisations that are recruiting for Games Time.
The London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG)
LOCOG is responsible for staging the London 2012 Olympic Games and will be employing six thousand staff to help with ticketing, providing sports equipment, preparing the various venues and training volunteers.
London 2012 Ceremonies Ltd (L2012C)
L2012C will be producing and organising the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the Games, and are recruiting for a wide range of positions including show operations and schedule assistants, coordinators, creative assistants, lighting and sound technicians.
London 2012 Contractors
London 2012 Contractors have been commissioned to deliver a wide range of services for the 2012 Games. They will be hiring tens of thousands of contract staff for a host of roles including catering and corporate hospitality, event services, retail, security staff and cleaning and waste services.
The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA)
The ODA is responsible for developing the infrastructure and venues for the London 2012 Games. This includes the building of permanent and temporary venues, sports venues, services to support the games and transportation infrastructure. The Olympic Delivery Authority is also charged with converting the Olympic Park after the Games, to provide permanent accommodation and open spaces for use by the community.
