The Olympic and Paralympic Village

The Olympic Village and Paralympic Village, located within the Olympic Park, is situated in the Stratford area of East London and during the Olympic Games will house 17,000 Olympic athletes, trainers and officials. and during the Olympic Games will house 17,000 Olympic athletes, trainers and officials. The Village is comprised of residential apartments built around communal squares and courtyards and includes large areas of open space. Each apartment will include state of the art communications facilities and will be fully accessible via lifts.

The Olympic Village will be home to media and leisure facilities along with a host of restaurants and shops. In addition the 'Village Plaza' will be available for Olympic athletes to meet and socialise with family and friends, with attractive water features and open spaces. Medical facilities will also be on hand for all athletes.

The Stratford City leisure complex will be available for Olympic Athletes along with transportation to central London via the High Speed 1 Javelin® shuttle service, with a travel time of only seven minutes.

After the Olympic Games The Village will be transformed into residential homes, which will include more than one thousand affordable homes. In addition pen spaces, transport links and new parks will enhance the East London community and a new education campus called the Chobham Academy will be available for children aged between three and nineteen years old.
